This new innovative product contains an antimicrobial coating. Ideally used as a barrier film it would be placed on surfaces such as keypads of medical equipment, bedrails, computer keyboards and any other flat, frequently touched surface. The antimicrobial agent used in this product has been developed on a mechanical principal thus eliminating the threat of resistance of bacteria such as golden staph that become immune to common antimicrobials. This antimicrobial has a 99.9% kill rate with the bonus of a lasting effect.

Meditecht film is different to other barrier films available as it contains the antimicrobial agent. The film is adhesive on one side making it easy to apply and offers ongoing protection for the surface to which it is applied as well as the persons who touch the coating, as the antimicrobial will have neutralised any contamination from previous users of the same coated area. One example is the computer keyboard in an office situation. Many staff members use the same computer and all of them are potential carriers of bacteria.
